چکیده

Automatic person authentication is an important task in our day to day life. Earlier method of establishing a person’s Authenticate includes knowledge based like password or token base like id cards. These identities may be lost stolen or shared by any person .For these reasons they are not suitable for authentication. Biometrics refers a technology to authenticate individuals by automated means that rely on anatomical or behavioral human characteristics. A multimodal biometric system combines two or more features of a person to be recognized together to determine a person’s authentication. This paper discusses types of Biometrics, Characteristics, level of fusion and Challenges and Research area etc. Keywords— Biometric, Unimodal, Multimodal, Security, Spoofing Attacks __________________________________________________*****_________________________________________________

Technical Review of Multi Model Biometrics System

Biometrics refers to automatic recognition of individuals based on their physiological and/or behavioral characteristics. Unimodal biometric systems allow person recognition based on a single source of biometric information but cannot guaranty a perfect identification. Such systems are sensitive to noisy sensor data, non-universality and lack of individuality of the chosen biometric trait, and ...

Level of Fusion in Multimodal Biometrics: a Review

User verification systems that use a single biometric indicator often have to contend with noisy sensor data, restricted degree of freedom, non-universality of the biometric trait and unacceptable error rates. So the need of using multimodal biometric system occurred. A multimodal biometric system combines the different biometric traits and provides better recognition performance as compared to...

Analyzing a multimodal biometric system using real and virtual users

Three main topics of recent research on multimodal biometric systems are addressed in this article: The lack of sufficiently large multimodal test data sets, the influence of cultural aspects and data protection issues of multimodal biometric data. In this contribution, different possibilities are presented to extend multimodal databases by generating so-called virtual users, which are created ...

Fusion strategies in multimodal biometric verification

The aim of this paper, regarding multimodal biometric verification, is twofold: on the one hand, to review some score fusion strategies reported in the literature and, on the other hand, to compare experimentally a selection of them using as monomodal baseline systems our template-based face, minutiaebased fingerprint and HMM-based on-line signature verification systems on the MCYT multimodal d...
